Greg Winters (Alan Hale), a disgraced World War 1 naval officer, is the Captain of a salvage-ship in New Orleans in 1925.
He crosses paths with Evelyn Inchcape (Laura La Plante), a man-hating owner of a cabaret and the heir to a fortune, and Karl Ludwig (Peter Erkelenz), a former German submarine commander, searching for salvation on the docks of New Orleans.

Alan Hale Sr.
Yes it is Alan Hale Sr. and he by far the best actor in this little film. In fact he is very good.
But it is 1931. Gee, it is only a few years since sound was added to film. Don't expect too much and you will enjoy it. Funny underwater scenes.
